Ashton Whitty and Asia Argento

Ashton Blaise Whitty was born on the 1st of October, 1995, in Berkeley, California, USA. She is an actress from America that has appeared on screen in Choices (2010) as well as The Heart and Other Small Shapes (2004).

Asia Argento, born in Rome to a family that also includes actors and directors pursued these professions as well. As a young girl, she made her acting debut in Sergio Ciotti's film Sogni e bisogni. in 1988 she portrayed the leading role in the first feature of Cristina Comencini's film Zoo. Additionally, she was one of Michele's cast in The Church. She was later cast as Nanni Moretti's daughter in Red Wood Pigeon It was in the film Close Friends written and directed by Michele Placido, that Asia's career really took off and she was able to change from portraying young girls into larger, more sophisticated characters. The film received a great reception in the Cannes International Film Festival. She worked with her father for the debut time on Trauma an award-winning film by Italian horror director Dario Argento. Her mother, Daria Nicoleli, is Argento's favourite actress, and she was the anorexic looking to find the killer of her parents. Asia was in Dario's Phantom of the Opera, the third movie she made with her dad. The other two included Trauma as well as The Stendhal Syndrome. In 1993 she co-starred in Carlo Verdone's Perdiamoci di vista, in which she played Arianna, a physically disabled girl. This was an intricate and difficult part that earned her the David di Donatello award for the most outstanding actress. She also played a featured role in the cast international in the film Queen Margot directed by Patrice Chereau. She worked in Peter Del Monte's Compagna di viaggio with Michel Piccoli and won the David di Donatello award and the Grolla oro. In 1994, Asia decided to try the art of directing, and produced two short films an episode of the movie De Generazione In 1996 she made a documentary of her father, and in 1998, a film about the cult director Abel Ferrara, AbelAsia which received an award from the Rome Film Festival. Asia began her first feature in 1999, Scarlet Diva. For the film, she was the lead actress and also composed the script. In May 2000, the film was screened across the globe. The Williamsburg Festival of Film in Brooklyn, New York awarded it with a prize.
